Mattresses in Eastern North Carolina

Firmness is personal and it is not a quality rating. Side sleepers usually want more give at the shoulder and hip; back and stomach sleepers usually want more support. The only reliable test is lying on it in your own sleeping position for several minutes, which is what the showrooms are for.

Memory foam contours and isolates motion, innerspring sleeps cooler and responds faster, and hybrids split the difference. If two people disagree, a hybrid or an adjustable base is usually the compromise that holds.

Common questions

How do I know which firmness I need?

Firmness is a preference rather than a quality level. Side sleepers usually prefer more give at the shoulder and hip; back and stomach sleepers usually prefer firmer support. Lying on the mattress in your own sleeping position for several minutes is the only reliable test, which is what our showrooms are for.

What is the difference between memory foam, innerspring and hybrid?

Memory foam contours to the body and isolates motion well. Innerspring sleeps cooler and responds faster when you move. A hybrid combines a coil support core with foam or latex on top and is the usual compromise when two people disagree.
